Complaints to other agencies

Right now, the Accessibility Commissioner can only deal with complaints about harm related to accessibility plans, feedback processes and progress reports under the Accessible Canada Regulations.

If your complaint is about something else, you may be able to complain to another federal or provincial agency.

Provinces and territories agencies

You can file a complaint with the human rights agency in your province or territory if your complaint is about:

  • the government of a province or territory, or
  • an organization that is regulated by a province or territory.

Examples of organizations that are regulated by the provinces and territories:

  • schools, colleges and universities
  • hospitals, medical clinics and long-term care homes
  • restaurants
  • stores
  • gyms
